Sir Francis Drake Has Nothing On Me

I have joined the ranks of the fabled gentleman explorers of yesteryear.  Names that bring to mind an incredible sense of discovery- Magellan, Cortes, DaGama, Lewis & Clark.  (I am 1/16 Native American so you will notice no Columbus on this list.)

I have discovered...

 Wait for it...

 My tongue.

It was right there in my mouth.  Who knew?

So much fun.

Seriously guys?

I am not even sure what to say here.  My parents are really weird.

I mean, they are nice people and everything, but did anyone check their credentials before handing me over to them?  Their sense of humor in particular is troubling to say the least.

We've Got Apps!

It has been a busy couple of weeks for me, but apparently more so for Mommy as she has not had time to type up any of my posts!  She promises that she will get a few out in a row to catch up.

In unsurprising late-to-the-game news, Mommy has discovered another app on her iPhone that folks have been using  since the stone age.  It's called Directr and she has made some pretty rad movies with it.  Here are links to a few:  I Am Grateful; Our Baby is Awesome; and Strolling.  Guess which one made Daddy claim the room was dusty?

Last weekend I went swimming for the first time, met some geese, and dressed up like a frog.

Mommy and I met Aunt Noreen and Teddy at the wading pool down the street.  I put my feet in the water and it was super fun.  I know I look like a lame duck in this picture next to Teddy, but hey- I am a baby, and I don't smile on command.

Speaking of photos where I don't look psyched, here is my introduction to water fowl at Bates Farm where Mommy and Daddy got ice cream and I got bupkis.

Did you think you were looking at an actual frog?  Ha!  It's just me after a bath.

The Multi-Purpose Shriek

A well-timed yell can serve many purposes.  It can be an indicator of glee, a sign that you need to get a bottle immediately, or a check-in to assure me that you are on your toes.  I have found that I like engaging in a ninja campaign of shrieking wherein I sit quiet as a mouse for hours, then when the household is completely unprepared make a noise loud and piercing enough to wake the dead even though nothing is wrong.  So fun!

Also fun?  Flying!  If you are on an iPad, you may not be able to see this video and I feel sad for you.

Mommy's Instagram obsession continues and the world is able to enjoy photos of me doing everything.

Staring at Daddy.

Showing off the new swag I got when I joined a band of baby pirates.

Trying on shoes.

And trying in vain to find my thumb.  All I've managed is to slobber all over my fist.

Fun fact:  babies cannot sit up on their own, no matter how many times mommies try to pose them.

Mommy Discovers Instagram & I Get a New Friend

Big week.  Last Friday was a rough day for Mommy.  Not only did she turn 444 months, but Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett were traded to the Nets right after Doc Rivers took a coaching job in California.  Daddy was away on a business trip so it was up to me to cheer her up.  Luckily, I am a baby and always know just what to do.  So I sat around looking cute and it worked!  Mommy took nine thousand pictures of me and edited them with Instagram, her new favorite toy.  Soon, she was no longer crying about the Celtics, but instead marveling at the sheer adorableness of her son (me).

With Instagram- this:

becomes this:
Awse poss as Mommy says.

This week a lot of great things happened.

My new best friend Reginald Fox arrived in the mail.  He was sent my Mommy's Aunt Gerry and I love him.

I wore jeans for the first time.
I sat in my toy box.

Then it was the 4th of July and Mommy and Daddy had a day off in the middle of the week.  We stayed home and Aunt Caitlin and Uncle Robi came over with Scarlett.  Later on Uncle Brendan came over to drink beers with Daddy and watch a hot dog eating contest on t.v.

Daddy said my hair looked like a firework.

Today, we went to Grammy and Grampy's for a belated July 4th party.  A whole bunch of different people held me and took my picture.

This is my cousin Morgan holding me.  Fun fact:  she is the only one of my cousins who can walk.
